Dr. Xavier Hall (pronounced: shah-vee-AIR HALL) has expertise in mixed-methods community-based research addressing multilevel root causes of health including chronic disease, sexual health, violence, aging-related comorbidities, and mental health.

His work has been funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), private foundations, and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) amounting to over $8 million in funded health disparities research. He is the contact PI for an ongoing R01 from the National Institute on Drug Abuse focused on the substance abuse crisis as well as MPI on an ongoing contract with the FDA. He is also a recipient of the NIH Loan Repayment Program from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Dr. Xavier Hall has worked with FDA’s OMHHE on multiple projects to improve clinical trial participation including as a Contact-PI and MPI.

Dr. Xavier Hall is an Associate Editor of the Wiley journal Research in Nursing & Health (RINA) and the Taylor & Francis journal Behavioral Medicine. He was an HIV & Aging fellow with the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care and a fellow in the Sustained Research in Aging and HIV Research (STAHR) program funded through the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Xavier Hall was a recipient of the 2026 Poster Award at the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner’s conference.

Dr. Xavier Hall has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, 2 published book textbook chapters on violence and health, as well as 2 upcoming textbook chapters one focused on violence and another HIV & Aging.

Dr. Xavier Hall has considerable experience in global health. He has ongoing collaborations in Brazil, Panama, and Vietnam. Beyond his observational work, Dr. Xavier Hall’s work strives to increase access to population-responsive care and interventions.
