Crim is a fourth-year doctoral candidate at Florida State University College of Social Work. Her work centers on examining health challenges, with a focus on stress related to identity and HIV-related trauma among racially diverse populations, particularly men who have sex with men (MSM). She has previously contributed to NIH-funded studies investigating the impact of social factors on the health and well-being outcomes of people living with HIV (PLHIV). Her research also includes intimate partner violence stressors specific to sexual differences and identity.
Crim collaborates on projects that explore health disparities, including the psychological factors linked to cardiovascular disease and trauma recovery. As a research assistant, she has co-authored articles and contributed to studies on the intersections of trauma, social support, and media use in health outcomes. Beyond her research, she has served as a mentor in Florida State University’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, guiding students in research, professional growth, and academic development. Her teaching experience includes her role as a teaching assistant and independent instructor for courses on social justice and diversity.
