Marie Jeanne Tuyisenge is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Center for Population Sciences for Health Empowerment.  She is dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of family caregivers of individuals with chronic kidney disease, particularly those receiving long-term dialysis treatment.  Dr. Tuyisenge’s research examines the influences of social support on mental health outcomes among family caregivers of individuals undergoing hemodialysis, using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Dr. Tuyisenge obtained her PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan School of Nursing and holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Rwanda.

Dr. Tuyisenge’s ongoing work includes developing artificial intelligence–enhanced digital health interventions to support family caregivers of individuals with chronic kidney disease, address their unmet needs, and reduce the adverse mental health outcomes commonly experienced by this population.
