Manjun Kim MA

Manjun Kim is a PhD student at Florida State University College of Social Work. His research focuses on aging, social relationships, technology use, and well-being among older adults. He is particularly interested in how information and communication technology (ICT) engagement shapes social connection, access to resources, and health in later life. His recent work has examined the digital divide, digital self-efficacy, social networks, and patterns of technology use among older adults, with a growing interests in cognitive functioning and health equity.

Manjun’s academic interests are closely connected to his personal experiences. Having been raised largely by his grandparents, he developed an early interest in older adults’ well-being and quality of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he completed a field placement at a senior welfare center and later volunteered at his grandmother’s long-term care facility for almost two years. These experiences shaped his interest in how technology and social resources can support older adults’ social connection and well-being.
