Dr. Killian is an Associate Professor at the FSU College of Social Work and holds a courtesy appointment as a Professor at the FSU College of Medicine. His research interests focus on pediatric organ transplant recipients and their families, explicitly exploring medication adherence, posttransplant health-related quality of life, and health outcomes. He is a Research Faculty at the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and their Solid Organ Transplant Program. In Florida, Dr. Killian leads a state-wide network of pediatric organ transplant researchers and physicians to examine posttransplant outcomes and medication adherence for these vulnerable populations of children and their families. Dr. Killian’s research also includes advanced statistical methods and psychometrics, focusing on measurement in health research. He has served as a statistical consultant on multiple federally and nationally funded grants, including National Institute on Child Health and Human Development (NIH), the Center for Medicare, and the Department for Education in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Dr. Killian provides statistical consultation to the University of Texas–Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center Department of Psychiatry. He also serves as a Research Scientist for the Center for the Study and Promotion of Communities, Families, and Children at the FSU College of Social Work. He holds courtesy appointments as a Research or Faculty Affiliate at the Quantitative Methodology and Innovation Division at the FSU Florida Center for Reading Research, FSU College of Medicine Center for Translational Behavioral Science, and the Florida Institute for Child Welfare.
