Liying Wang is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Florida State University. As a clinical psychologist, her research is rooted in translational clinical science, with a strong commitment to community-engaged and participatory approaches. She utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to examine the social factors that impact health among people living with HIV and communities with limited access to care. Drawing on her understanding of these communities and insights gained through close collaboration with community partners, Dr. Wang develops contextually appropriate digital psychosocial interventions aimed at improving mental health and enhancing resilience.

Her research program combines clinical science with human-centered design principles to create scalable, AI-enhanced mHealth interventions. Adopting a global-to-local approach, her work in China and Southeast Asia informs the development of contextually relevant interventions. By harnessing the power of generative AI and embracing social media platforms, she seeks to improve access to mental health resources and coping skills training, especially among populations with limited access to services.
