John Barile
Dr. Barile is the Interim Director of the Social Science Research Institute and an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Jack earned his doctorate in community psychology from Georgia State University in 2010 and went on to completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2012, where currently holds an appoint as a Research Social Scientist. He has received funding for his work from the NIH, NSF, and CDC. He currently manages an active research program (uhecolab.com | jackbarile.com) pursing questions concerning ecological determinants of health-related quality of life. His research aims to improve the lives of historically marginalized communities, include those experiencing homelessness, multiple chronic conditions, and severe mental illness.
