INDICASAT AIP (Insituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Servicios de Alta Tecnología - Asociación de Interés Público) is a biomedical research institute located in the City of Knowledge (Ciudad del Saber) campus in the capital city of Panamá. Research programs include Natural Products Chemistry, Immunology, Neurosciences, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Parasitology, Clinical Trials and other health-related areas. INDICASAT-AIP includes among its strategic objectives two main aspects: the generation of scientific knowledge in areas of interest to the country and capacity building; all this through scientific research in Biomedicine and other related fields of science, technology transfer and the provision of technological services. It also includes among its objectives supporting the competitiveness of productive sectors, facilitating the interaction of academic sectors (universities and research centers) with private companies through innovation.

Brief bio (photo attached): GB is the Lead PI of the Center for Neuroscience and the Panama Aging Research Initiative – Health Disparities (PARI-HD) program of INDICASAT-AIP, has a courtesy research appointment with the Florida State College of Nursing and is an affiliate of the Center of Population Sciences for Health Equity at Florida State University. She has extensive experience building and managing clinic- and community-based cohorts targeting underserved populations for the study of factors related to cognitive aging. For the past twelve years, Dr. Britton and her collaborators have carried out the first Panamanian study focused on identifying biomarkers for improving early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) in cohorts of older adults.
