Director- Victor Buitron
Dr. Buitron is a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychology at FSU. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Florida International University and Completed his NIH T32 postdoctoral research fellowship at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital. His clinical research interests include youth suicide etiology and prevention, interpersonal risk factors, and Latinx mental health. Read full bio here

Graduate Student- Emma Edenbaum
Emma Edenbaum is a first-year graduate student in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Florida State University, under the mentorship of Dr. Victor Buitron. Emma’s research focuses on emotion dysregulation, identity, and suicidality in youth populations. Specifically, she hopes to clarify the role of negativity bias in self-injurious thoughts and behaviors and in developing self-concept. Prior to joining the Youth Resilience Program, Emma researched non-suicidal self-injury at Oberlin College before graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She then worked for two years as the head research assistant and lab manager of the Schacter Memory Lab at Harvard University, where she studied episodic future thinking and autobiographical memory in nonclinical populations.
Lab Manager- Brianna Evans
Brianna graduated from Florida State university with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Child Development in 2023. Prior to her lab manager role, she was a research assistant with the FSU Anxiety and Behavioral Health Clinic and Contributed to research on trauma-related disorders. She also served as a hotline crisis counselor for 211 Big Bend and responded to calls from the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Brianna wishes to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a focus on adolescent resilience and suicidality, and the downstream effects of parental psychology.

Interests: Mental health needs of healthcare workers and the Hispanic community, impact of college sports on student athletes
Isabelle Medina
Interests: Acculturation and mental health outcomes of the Latinx community; prevalence, risk factors, and barriers to care for athletes; influence of trauma and adversity on pediatric mental health
